Help on the Butterfly Release Team. You'll help manage butterfly warming and distribution for the closing ceremony. Some standing and walking and light lifting might be required. 

Using the microphone at the podium, take turns solemnly read names from the printed list provided to honor the memory of loved ones lost. 

Assist the Bereavement Center team with guests in Joanie's Garden. You'll help with craft projects and listen and talk with guests. Training or background in bereavement support is preferred. 

Prepare, set up, and manage the luminaries for 2026 Celebration Walk. There are many tasks and timeframes involved with this project; your team leader will contact you to place and schedule you according to your interests, abilities, and availability.

Work in the Children's Area as a Face Painter

Assist in the Welcome Center Tent for 2026 Celebration Walk by supporting guests with donations, t-shirt sales, luminary donations, maps, wheelchairs, and general questions. You'll be standing with light lifting. 

Assist in providing warm hospitality in the VIP Tent for 2026 Celebration Walk. Greet guests, keep area tidy and food and beverages stocked.

Allow guests with printed parking passes to enter campus. All others you'll politely direct to our public parking areas. This requires standing the entire shift behind traffic cones in high-visibility vests to maintain your safety. 

Set up and maintain the Hospitality Room area for 2026 Celebration Walk. You'll greet guests, maintain tidiness, and keep the food and drink stocked.  

Set up and staff table with items to show appreciation to our veterans.

Help in the Children's Area for the 2026 Celebration Walk by providing a fun, safe area with crafts, coloring, and face painting.

It's critically important to look our best when we're at our most vulnerable. Your skills will help a hospice patient look their best as they greet visitors during this challenging time. Hair cuts, styles, braids, nail care, it's all so deeply comforting and appreciated. 

Retiring from a busy career? Let us help you maintain your license when you volunteer to serve hospice patients! 

Provide pet therapy with your certified pet therapy animal to hospice patients in their homes or care facilities.

Assist departmental staff

Our Tuck in Call team members reach out to our hospice patients mid-week over the phone to check in, ensuring they have all the supplies, meds, and items they need to get through the weekend. Our patients enjoy hearing kind voices, and our care team appreciates the help to avoid running out of anything or needing to make extra trips to provide supplies. These volunteers have good phone skills, great listening skills, and wise and compassionate hearts. Team members can work a weekly schedule or fill in as needed. At Midland Care, we passionately believe that no one should ever die alone. Our Sacred Vigil volunteers honor the passing of our clients at their bedside when no one else is able to be there for them. A compassionate ear can make such a difference to a grieving family or individual. Our Center for Hope and Healing offers support for those who've experienced a recent loss, and volunteers are vital part of that team. While there are many ways to help, making check in phone calls to grieving families and writing condolence cards are the primary ways to support those who've suffered a loss.  Training provided. As a show of our respect, Midland Care provides a White Rose at the services of each of clients after they pass to honor them and comfort their families and friends. This volunteer will pick up the rose at the florist and deliver it to the location of services prior to the start of services. Work as your schedule allows.
